RUED APPAREL
LOGO DESIGN
RUED Apparel is an indie startup company creating women's sportswear focused on female empowerment, and creating functional clothes that fit all body types.
The client wanted the logo to feature an owl to embody the Greek goddess Athena, and also wanted the logo to look sleek and gender neutral presenting.
Words the client described the brand personality with were
"Rentless. Courageous. Empowering. Unique. Durable."
Initially named BELLICOSE Apparel, the logo had to be later readjusted as the client ran into some copyright and rebranding issues. The owl was also further refined, opting for a more angular head and held an arrow in its claws. The final result was a bold design with an iconic mark that would be easily recognisable in colours and iconography alone. The logo was tested on multiple colours and surfaces to ensure a good read against different apparel designs, so that branding could be easily applied to all their activewear products.
